OFFICE POLICIES:

It is the policy of Columbia River Counselling to regard every client with the same level of consistency and professionalism. Each client will have the opportunity to meet with one of our counsellors for an initial session in order to get a feel for her style and expertise. Additional sessions will be scheduled as the client or family feels confident in the intended treatment goals.

MESSAGES:

You may call 250-805-0400 regarding any questions you may have. After hours, leave a voice mail message with your contact information and you will be contacted the next business day. Columbia River Counselling is not a 24-hour-counselling center. In an emergency, please call 911 or your local emergency department. Queen Victoria Hospital’s Emergency Department can be contacted at 250-837-2131.

SCHEDULING:

Services are by appointment only and normally scheduled weeks in advance. As this time is reserved exclusively for you, it is necessary to charge for appointments that are not cancelled at least 48-hours in advance. In the event of an emergency, special considerations may be given regarding the cancellation policy. All appointments are made online through this website.

SESSIONS:

Sessions are typically scheduled for 50 minutes. The remaining 10 minutes of the hour are used for documentation and to allow for patients leaving and arriving in confidence. Neurofeedback sessions are 45 minutes and do not allow for additional time for counselling. While CRC has two separate entrances for client confidentiality we ask, to further protect your confidentiality, that you refrain from arriving more than five minutes early. Additionally, we will make every effort to ensure that your appointment ends on time.

Any client who arrives for therapy under the influence of drugs or alcohol will be re-scheduled and necessary arrangements for safe transportation home will be made at the client’s expense.

A parent or guardian must be present while a child is in session. You may wait in the waiting area while the session is conducted, however you must remain on the premises. In the event that a parent should leave a minor in the custody of Columbia River Counselling and refuse to collect their child, the appropriate authorities will be notified and the parent will be billed by the hour until appropriate arrangements have been made to ensure the child has a safe place to go.

We encourage you to schedule your appointments through our website at crcrevelstoke.com.

BILLING:

Payment is due at the time of each session. Cash, major credit card payments and interact e-transfers are accepted. Therapeutic phone calls longer than ten minutes, consultations, and other auxiliary services requested will also be prorated accordingly. Additional traveling fees may be charged for out-of-office services. If you have an unpaid balance for more than two months, your account may be turned over to a collection agency or small claims court.

INSURANCE:

If you have an Extended- health insurance plan (the BC MSP does not cover counselling services at this time), your visits may be partially paid for by your insurance company. Billing statements will be available the first week of each month for the previous month’s services. Statements will contain all pertinent information required by the insurance company for reimbursement.
